Julius Randle was asked about being named an All-Star for the second time in three seasons, and while he is excited to be recognized for his resurgent campaign, he couldn't help but wonder why he wouldn't be having Jalen Brunson there to join him.
"Only thing that really sucks is that I think Jalen should be right here with me," Randle said.
Talking about the All-Stars on Friday morning, Boomer and Gio agreed with Randle.
"He should definitely be there," Boomer said.
Gio agreed, even believing Brunson should be there ahead of Randle. But in the end, he would rather have his players just taking the All-Star break off to rest, because the All-Star Game is unwatchable anyway.
"Give him a rest, man. Give him two days off," Gio said. "We need him for the stretch run. He should be there ahead of Julius Randle. Good for Julius Randle, bounceback year, but I'd rather have my guys not there. It's stupid exhibition nonsense. Nobody plays defense, stupid-ass thing."
