Gio's celebration of Josh Hart dagger three was like 'Barry Sanders'

Gio revealed that his celebration of Josh Hart’s dagger 3-pointer in game six was a subdued one despite how fired up he was for this series and Thursday night’s game.

A caller declared it a “Barry Sanders celebration,” as Gio acted like he had been there before, simply handing the ball to the ref in the end zone after an incredible 50-yard touchdown run.

Gio wanted to take credit for it, but he said there were circumstances that led to the poised celebration.

“You gotta remember it’s 11:47 at night when Josh Hart hit that three,” Gio said. “I got a six-year-old, a two-year old, a large dog, and a wife in the house. I cannot throw a coffee table. That’s one part of it. Two, I’m exhausted.”

Gio added that he typically doesn’t go over the top when he celebrates his teams’ successes, as he uses his fist for calm fist pumps when things go well.

“I’m a fister,” Gio laughed. “Then if something goes wrong, I’m pounding the fist on the couch.”
