Gio: Jalen Brunson scoring 38 a night is only way Knicks will complete comeback

Jalen Brunson was the hero for the Knicks in game five, and Gio says New York will have to get equal performances from their star point guard the rest of the way if they want to complete a comeback over the Heat.

“You’re gonna need another 38 from him in games six and seven if you’re gonna win this series,” Gio said. “Unless someone is stepping up.

“Unless Julius Randle drops 40 or RJ Barrett drops 35, you’re gonna need it again. You’re gonna need it in three straight games.”

Brunson played a full 48 minutes to get those 38 points, while chipping in seven assists and nine rebounds to keep the Knicks season alive. Brunson will have to be ready for a couple encores, unless New York will head into the offseason.

“That’s the way they’re gonna have to win,” Gio said.
