Jalen Brunson committed three turnovers in Wednesday's loss to the Hawks, with only one of them happening in the third quarter, but he took the blame upon himself for that disastrous start to the second half that saw the completion of an epic Knicks collapse.
"First and foremost, you have to give them credit," Brunson said of the Hawks, who turned a 23-point deficit into an 18-point lead. "They played with a lot of energy after being down a decent amount. We just came out a little lackadaisical.
"As a point guard, as a leader, I gotta take credit for that. That's just unacceptable on my part. We've just got to be better."
The Knicks committed nine turnovers in the third quarter, with seven different players coughing the ball up at least once, while the team managed just 10 points. It was hardly all on Brunson, but he said it should be.
