Ahead of Tuesday night's game against the Pacers, the Knicks announced that Julius Randle has been cleared from the league's health and safety protocols and is listed as questionable for Tuesday night.
Randle was placed in protocols on Dec. 30, missing the last two games (both Knicks losses). His return will be based on any conditioning that he might need to get back into game shape.
Many saw Randle's placement in COVID protocol as an opportunity to take time away from the court, as Randle has regressed significantly since being named the league's Most Improved Player last season. He is averaging 19.3 points, 10 rebounds and five assists on the season, and his shooting percentage numbers have dropped significantly. He shot just 2-for-11 in a win over the Pistons before entering health and safety protocols.
Prior to entering protocols, Randle hadn't missed a game this season.
Mitchell Robinson and Jericho Sims, who both were cleared from health and safety protocols on Monday, are both listed as questionable for Tuesday night. Nerlens Noel is ruled out.
