The Knicks are getting another reinforcement back for Christmas, but losing another contributor to health and safety protocols.

While Kevin Knox has rejoined the team, rookie center Jericho Sims has entered COVID-19 protocols, the team announced Saturday morning. Sims joins Nerlens Noel and Miles McBride on New York’s list of players in health and safety protocols.

While Knox is back, both he and recently returned Immanuel Quickley both won’t be available on Saturday against the Hawks, as both will rebuild their conditioning before making their return. Knox found himself with more playing time as the Knicks began to be decimated by COVID cases, and scored 18 points in a loss to the Bucks on Dec. 12, but played just one more game before entering protocols.

Sims played 22 minutes off the bench in Thursday’s loss to the Wizards, scoring six points and grabbing six rebounds.
