Video surfaced of Draymond Green and Jordan Poole’s altercation during Warriors practice on Friday, and former Knicks point guard Chris Childs wants to know what all the fuss is about.
The video certainly doesn’t make the confrontation look minor, as Green appears to land a clean punch to Poole’s face before teammates and coaches rushed in to break up the fight. But Childs took to Twitter on Friday to make it clear that if there were any videos released of Knicks practices during his time with New York, it would make Green and Poole’s tussle look like a handshake.

“Listen this Draymond thing is nothing!” Childs said. “Good thing footage never got out of our Knicks practices and locker room, that was real pressure.”
Childs’ first season with the Knicks came in 1997, when the team still had Charles Oakley, Patrick Ewing, and John Starks, ties to the teams of earlier in the decade that were notorious for their physicality and brutality. Childs himself wasn’t afraid himself, throwing punches at Kobe Bryant while with the Knicks in 2000. Combine all of those personalities, and it isn’t hard to believe Childs’ claim about the intensity of their practices.
