Julius Randle joined exclusive Knicks history on Monday night with his 57-point outburst, but thanks to some shoddy team-wide defense on the other end, New York made an unfortunate first for the season in the process.
As noted by The Strickland, NBA teams were a perfect 8-0 this season when one of their players scored 55 points or more, but that number is now 8-1 after Randle and the Knicks fell to the Timberwolves at Madison Square Garden.
Randle's 57 points is tied for the third most in a game in Knicks franchise history, and is the first Knick to score 50 points since Carmelo Anthony.
Randle shot 19-for-29 from the field and 8-of-14 from downtown, but the Knicks couldn't hang on to a slim fourth quarter lead, as Minnesota's Taurean Prince shot a perfect 8-for-8 from beyond the arc.
