The Knicks and longtime general manager Scott Perry have reportedly agreed to part ways, according to Newsday’s Steve Popper.
Perry’s contract is set to expire this offseason, and he will not be returning after holding a spot in the team’s front office since 2017. He was given a two-year extension by Leon Rose in 2020.
Perry’s Knicks resume includes successful draft picks late Immanuel Quickley late in the first round, and Mitchell Robinson as a second-round pick. He also helped sign Julius Randle in free agency.
With news of Perry’s departure, Knicks fans immediately began dreaming of a scenario where Bob Myers, who just stepped down from the Warriors front office, would come to New York to try and construct another dynasty, but that scenario seems highly unlikely.
