Boomer and Gio dreaming up trade package to bring in Donovan Mitchell, keep RJ Barrett

Initial reports suggested that the Jazz were considering Donovan Mitchell to be untouchable, despite Utah having just dealt away Rudy Gobert.

But recent reports now indicate that the Jazz could be open to dealing Mitchell if they were blown away with a trade offer, and immediately, speculation turned to the Knicks, and Boomer and Gio were giddy at the thought of Mitchell playing home games in The Garden.

But what would it take?

"I think they should be able to get him without RJ Barrett," Gio said.

"You can give them four first-round picks, Obi Toppin, Immanuel Quickley, Quentin Grimes."

Even that kind of haul might not get it done, but Gio says the priority should be keeping Barrett in the fold. Utah likely wouldn't take on the contract of Julius Randle, but Gio says getting Mitchell to New York would still immediately make the Knicks must-see TV.

"I know your offense feels like it would be stuck in the mud if [Randle] was still here, but I would love to see that combination, Brunson, Mitchell, RJ," Gio said. "If you can get that done, then we're going into next season legitimately excited that the Knicks can compete."
