Perhaps some teams around the league liked what they saw from Kevin Knox on Sunday afternoon.
Less than 24 hours after the Knicks afterthought scored 18 points off the bench and hit five 3-pointers, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that teams are “inquiring” about Knox’s availability via trade.

Knox played nearly 29 minutes in Sunday’s loss to the Bucks, with Kemba Walker benched and RJ Barrett, Obi Toppin and Alec Burks all unavailable. Knox was -18 on the day but showed some potential with his 3-point stroke in what was just his seventh appearance of the season so far, and his first time playing over eight minutes all year.
Knox, still just 22 years old, is in his fourth NBA season, and was thrown right into the fire after being selected ninth overall in 2018. He averaged 29 minutes per game as a rookie and started 57 games, shooting just 37 percent from the field and averaging 12.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. His workload dropped to 17.9 minutes per game in his sophomore season with just four starts, then averaged 11 minutes per game with no starts under Tom Thibodeau last season.
Knox could get more looks from Thibodeau this week as long as Barrett and Toppin remain in health and safety protocols, but long term, his role on the team is hard to find.
Perhaps he could be on the move before February’s trade deadline.
