Keith: Knicks latest injury scares highlight need to make a trade ASAP

Keith signed on shortly after the Knicks finished off their win over the Grizzlies, though the victory may have come at a cost.

The biggest cost would be the loss of Jalen Brunson, who rolled his ankle late in the fourth quarter and did not return. The Knicks reportedly believe Brunson avoided a severe sprain, but he wasn't the only player to come out of the game with an injury, as Josh Hart was looked at by the medical staff after grabbing at his knee shortly after Brunson's injury.

For Keith, the plethora of injuries that are plaguing the Knicks only enhance the need for the team to make a move before Thursday's deadline.

"You start to worry about bigger things," Keith said. "You start to worry about the rest of the season and your run.

"You need to take out an insurance claim. You need to make a move. Just add another scorer, another guy to this team that can help."

Keith doesn't subscribe to the idea that Tom Thibodeau's infamous reluctance to pull starters late in games plays a role in these injuries, and chalks it up to the grind of an 82-game season. It normally doesn't come at once, but it has for the Knicks, and they need to respond by adding another piece.

"I know the narrative around the coach is that he plays these guys too long…guys are gonna get banged up," Keith said. "They're not robots. But the front office can help this team."
