Knicks' Leon Rose Reportedly Has Carmelo Anthony on His Radar

Carmelo Anthony may want to stay in Portland, but that may not stop the New York Knicks from calling.

According to Marc Berman of the New York Post, Anthony has been on new team president Leon Rose's radar ever since he took the job in March.

Anthony was one of Rose's top clients when the Knicks president was a player agent at Creative Artists Agency.

The former Knicks All-Star also previously lobbied for Tom Thibodeau to be the coach in 2014 and had some of his best seasons as a Knick under Mike Woodson, who is an assistant on Thibodeau's staff.

The Knicks also have a void at small forward, so there are plenty of reasons to justify a reunion.

But before we get ahead of ourselves, a reunion in New York may not be what Anthony wants.

He made it abundantly clear about his feelings playing with the Trail Blazers this past season, where he has had a career revival of sorts, averaging 15.4 points per game.

The Knicks are also going through a rebuild, and Anthony has never won an NBA title in his career. The Trail Blazers certainly give him a better chance at that opportunity than the Knicks do.

So while Rose may have his eye on Anthony, Melo may not have his eye on New York, and it may be for the best for both parties involved.
