Mitchell Robinson 'hungry' after signing contract: 'I want another one'

Mitchell Robinson signed a new four-year, $60 million contract to return to the Knicks this past offseason, and in the early parts of this season, the center has proven the contract to be a worthwhile investment.

Robinson, slimmer and clearly showing more bounce from last season, has been a dynamic rim protector from the start of the preseason and through the Knicks' first three games of the regular season, blocking 2.3 shots per game to start, which is just under the pace he put up in his surprise rookie campaign. He is also averaging 8.7 points per game while posting a league-best 84.6 field goal percentage.

For Robinson, his fast start has been about proving his worth rather than resting on the worth he has already been shown by the Knicks this past summer.

"Most people yell out, 'When you get paid, people act like they don't want to work no more.' But that's the opposite of me," Robinson said. "Even though I got me a little bag or whatever, I'm going to work even harder because I want another one. I want more.

"I'm hungry."

Robinson has certainly shown that hunger to begin the season, and if he continues to dominate the offensive glass like he has been through the first three games, the Knicks will have another valuable addition to their offense, alongside a real point guard in Jalen Brunson and a resurgent Julius Randle.
