The NBA has finally begun to reveal its schedule for the 2026-27 season, and in a mainly unsurprising move, the league has slated the defending champion Knicks to host the 76ers as part of its opening night tripleheader.

New York will raise its championship banner at Madison Square Garden on Oct. 20 against LeBron James and the Sixers, a matchup many predicted for the season opener as soon as James revealed he was signing with Philly. The game is the middle game of a three-game slate on Oct. 20, tipping off at 7:00 on NBC and Peacock.

The NBA also revealed its Christmas Day schedule, and the Knicks will once again kick things off, hosting the Spurs at noon at MSG. It will be a rematch of the NBA Finals, and Victor Wembanyama's return to Madison Square Garden for the first time since he and the Spurs choked away a 29-point lead in game four.

The Knicks will also be part of Amazon Prime's first NBA broadcast of the 2026-27 season, as they will travel to Boston to take on Mitchell Robinson and the Celtics on Oct. 23.
