The Knicks, along with the rest of the NBA, revealed their court designs for the first-ever In-Season Tournament, which kicks off on Friday, and fans were not impressed, to say the least.
The reaction to the Knicks' floor design was widely negative, as the court is very, very orange, save for a strip of blue down the middle of the length of the court.
The design in the paint on both ends includes the trophy for the new tournament, and the trophy is depicted in full at midcourt, along with the Knicks' new font that they will use on this year's City Connect jerseys. "New York Knicks" is written in blue behind both baselines as well, off centered.
According to ESPN senior writer Zach Lowe, the Knicks had asked the league if they could use a gray color shade as the primary court color rather than orange, but the league denied that request, as they wanted teams to stick with their core colors. For the Knicks, that means blue and orange.
The Knicks will kick off their In-Season Tournament play on Friday in Milwaukee against the Bucks, then two weeks later at the Wizards. Their new court design will be on display for the first time on Nov. 24 against the Heat, then again on Nov. 28 against the Hornets.
