Trae Young, still basking in his role as a Knicks villain after bouncing New York from the postseason two seasons ago, wore custom shoes with the words “King of Broadway” on them during Wednesday’s game at Madison Square Garden.

But Young didn’t prove to be the king of anything on Wednesday, shooting 9-for-20 as his Hawks were blown out 113-89 in one of the most dominant defensive performances of the season so far for the Knicks. Young finished with 19 points, while Julius Randle went off for 34 points and 17 rebounds.

Naturally, after the final buzzer, Knicks fans swarmed to social media to troll Young for his custom shoes that were hardly backed up by his play on the court. Granted, Atlanta was painfully shorthanded, buy Young still struggled badly from the floor and had to face the music afterward.
