Knicks date, start time for playoff opener against Pistons revealed

The Knicks concluded their regular season with a win over the rival Nets on Sunday afternoon, and now, attention turns to the playoffs for a third straight year.

The time, New York will be tasked with the upstart Pistons in the first round, a team that emerged from finishing with the worst record in basketball last year to a sixth seed in the Eastern Conference. Led by Cade Cunningham, Detroit took three of four from the Knicks in the regular season, including a 115-106 victory in the Motor City last week.

With the NBA playoffs kicking off this weekend after Play-In Tournament action, the NBA has revealed when the Knicks/Pistons series will tip off. Game one will be Saturday at 6:00 p.m. at MSG, in what will be a raucous crowd to see New York begin its journey towards a hopeful deep playoff run.

The dates and start times for the rest of the first-round series have yet to be announced, and likely won’t be until the rest of the series are known once the Play-In Tournament is wrapped up.
