LeBron James made history on the Madison Square Garden floor Tuesday night, sending the Knicks on their way to a frustrating overtime defeat.
James, at the age of 38, filled up the stat sheet for a triple-double to down New York, scoring 28 points while grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out 10 assists.
It is the first time in NBA history that a player logged a triple-double in their 20th season in the league.
James was also big on the defensive end for the Lakers, helping turn away the Knicks’ last chance in regulation, swarming Julius Randle along with Anthony Davis to block the potential game-winning shot and send the game to overtime, where the Lakers dominated for the remaining five minutes.
It was James’ first game back at MSG in nearly three years, and he made the most of it, the latest star to shine at The World’s Most Famous Arena as a visitor.
