The Knicks fell below .500 with a blowout loss at the hands of the Nets, as New York appears to be heading towards another painfully mediocre season in which there will be likely very little heard publicly from team president Leon Rose.
BT wants to know when Rose will start being held accountable for the team’s lack of improvements since year one under Tom Thibodeau.
“Brian Cashman has felt the wrath, certainly from us…and from many before us, and on most levels fully justified from a baseball point of view,” BT said. “I would like to know why Leon Rose continues to skate. Why is Leon Rose not feeling the heat?
“The Knicks have, under his watch, found a way to leave the gate, get to the tarmac, but they haven’t gotten in the air yet.”
Rose was seen as a potential savior when he arrived, a way to free the team from the mess it was in when Phil Jackson left. But the Knicks are still without a star, have yet to draft a player that seems set on evolving into one, and Rose has dodged nearly all attempts to speak to reporters about the state of the team.
BT says it’s time he faced the music.
“He flipped the entire roster, including the coaching staff, and the only three players he inherited, Randle, Barrett, and Robinson, you can make a very strong case that he foolishly extended,” BT said. There’s levels of culpability, there’s degrees of anger, I get it. I’m not saying the entire team is up in flames. What I am saying is, this team is going nowhere.”
