The Grizzlies had their way with the reeling Knicks on Wednesday night in The Garden, except for when Ja Morant tried to put Mitchell Robinson on a poster.
With less than two minutes to go in the fourth, and Memphis finishing off a 120-108 victory, Morant drove to his right and rose up while reaching his hand back for what would have been a vicious one-handed slam, but instead, Robinson met Morant at the rim with both arms raised, rejecting the dunk attempt with his left hand. Morant fell to the ground, and Robinson shook his head as he looked down at the Grizzlies’ star.

“That was a crazy play right there,” Robinson said. “I just went vertical. Whatever happens, happens. I just took the challenge and tried to get stops and push. Just a challenge.”
It was a challenge that Robinson was more than up for, and was all night. Morant is well known for his electrifying play and emphatic dunks, but he recorded eight blocks on the night, and his poster-rejecting stuff was his sixth against Morant alone, who struggled to the tune of 9-of-27 shooting from the floor.

But when he turned on the jets to try and come in for a big slam, Robinson was ready.
“I've seen a lot of videos,” Robinson said. “I was just waiting to see when he would try to do that to me, and he tried it.”
