Looks like Sunday's Nets-Sixers game wasn't just a season finale, but also a playoff preview.
When the NBA standings were finalized on Sunday night, after Philly's 134-105 win over Brooklyn, the Nets had clinched the sixth seed at 45-37, and the Sixers had clinched the three at 54-28. And so, the two will meet in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, with Game 1 in Philly Saturday at 1 p.m. on ESPN.
The Sixers swept the season series from the Nets this year, taking all four games by scores of 115-106, 137-133, 101-98, and then 134-105 in a Sunday finale where both teams were locked into their seed.
The winner of the series will face the winner of the first-round series between Boston and the winner of the Miami-Atlanta play-in game. The other two first-round series are (4) Cleveland vs. (5) New York, and (1) Milwaukee against the remaining play-in survivor; Chicago will face Toronto in the other play-in game, and the winner of that game faces the Heat-Hawks loser for the eighth seed.
