OG Anunoby makes NBA history with torrid Knicks introduction

OG Anunoby continues to ball out for the Knicks, as his torrid shooting start helped New York run away with an easy 28-point win over Portland at The Garden on Tuesday night.

The highlight of the RJ Barrett/Immanuel Quickley trade started off hitting four of five 3-pointers in the first quarter, and finished with 23 points on 9-of-12 shooting in 29 minutes of action. By the time Tom Thibodeau pulled Anunoby and his starters early in the fourth quarter, Anunoby held a plus/minus of +26.

That mark was enough to make NBA history, as his +111 through five games with the Knicks makes Anunoby the first player ever to post a plus/minus that high in his first five games with a new team.

The introduction for Anunoby can't seem to be going much better, as his lockdown defense and efficient shooting from the corner three has taken the Knicks to another level, riding a five-game winning streak that includes a dismantling of the 76ers last week. The departure has given way to more playing time for the likes of Quentin Grimes and Miles McBride, who have both taken their game to another level since the trade.

But the main catalyst has been Anunoby, who seems to have the Knicks rolling any time he is on the court, even if he isn't stuffing the stat sheet.
