Former Nets star Richard Jefferson, now an NBA analyst at ESPN, is long known for his trolling of the Knicks on his post playing career platform.
One Knicks fan called him out on it when Jefferson was in Los Angeles to call New York’s road contest with the Clippers last week, telling Jefferson that he hates the Knicks.
Jefferson’s response pointed the finger back at Knicks fans.
‘Y’all hate y’all. Knicks fans hate the Knicks more than any player could hate the Knicks,” Jefferson said, caught on camera by Twitter user @LOUDAGOD. “So I don’t know what y’all keep blaming on us for. If y’all win games, y’all be happy. I don’t care if they win or lose.”
Jefferson has certainly been more complimentary of the Knicks of late, and rightfully so, as New York has statistically been one of the top teams in the league since December, and certainly since the trade deadline after acquiring Josh Hart and bringing back Mitchell Robinson.
So, there hasn’t been much to troll when it comes to the Knicks, but Jefferson says any playful trash talk pales in comparison to what New York’s own fanbase says about the team when things aren’t going well.
