RJ Barrett doesn't want to hear any hypotheticals about the Knicks' season potentially coming to an end on Wednesday night at The Garden.
In Barrett's eyes, elimination on New York's home floor isn't even an option.
When asked how he and the Knicks would view their resurgent season if the team isn't able to fight off elimination against the Hawks on Wednesday, Barrett quickly dismissed it, while confidently saying that there will be a game six.
"Why you gotta be so negative?" Barrett said. "I'm not thinking about that. We're winning tonight. I'm not thinking about that."
If Barrett's declaration is to come true, the Knicks will have to play much better than they did in games three and four, losing both games in convincing fashion while their star Julius Randle continues to struggle offensively. Barrett, who has struggled on the offensive end for much of the series as well, finally showed signs of life in game four, shooting 8-for-15 from inside the arc and finishing with 21 points in 36 minutes.
But now, back on their home floor, the Knicks will look to recapture the success they enjoyed in game two, and don't want to hear about any potential season-ending scenarios.
"Come on, bro," Barrett said. "Stupid-ass question."
