RJ Barrett's season ended in Washington on Friday night, when he left the game with what the Knicks called a right knee sprain, but the immediate concern turned to whether the injury was a serious one that could impact his offseason.
But Barrett and New York have reportedly avoided a disaster, as Stefan Bondy of the Daily News reports that Barrett's knee injury is "not serious."
Of course, as head coach Tom Thibodeau said after Friday's win, Barrett still won't play in Sunday's season finale, ending his third NBA campaign with a career-high 20 points per game while shooting 41 percent from the field. He was ending his season strong by scoring 14 points in 15 minutes of action while shooting 6-for-10 from the field before the injury, which he tried to walk off before eventually leaving the game.
