Many of the voices of WFAN responded with immediate dread and protest when reports emerged that the Knicks were expected to engage in trade talks with the 76ers for James Harden, but Tiki is not among them.
“I know people will say he’s just gonna ruin the culture and he is a cancer wherever he goes,” Tiki said. “But if I’m the Knicks right now, and I don’t have to give up the world…I absolutely am exploring this.
“You’re not giving up the farm, for sure, but I do believe James Harden, as one of the elite scorers of our generation, think about what the Knicks needed. Jalen Brunson was really good…but there was always an elite scoring option that was missing.”
BT was not in agreement, to say the least, but Tiki believes Harden would be a short-term spark to the Knicks’ much-needed scoring attack, and despite Harden’s long history of trade requests, why not give it a shot?
“James Harden could bring that [scoring],” Tiki said. “James Harden brings that to the Knicks, and if it doesn’t work, you bounce him. You get rid of him. Someone else will want him. It’s low-risk, if you ask me.”
