The Knicks secured a much-needed win on Monday night, blowing out the Kings by 20 points at home.
But arguably the largest applause from the Madison Square Garden crowd came early in the fourth quarter, when New York was finishing up the easy victory, and the fans wanted to see Cam Reddish on the court.
The former first-round pick has seen sparing playing time since being traded for Kevin Knox and a first-round pick last month, while head coach Tom Thibodeau has continuously said that Reddish will have to fight his way into a rotation that is already set. But Knicks fans have wanted to see more of the youngster, and made that clear on Monday night.
"We love our fans," Thibodeau said of the chants after the game. "There's no other place you'd rather be. This is the best place in the league to play. We know it, everybody knows it…we have great appreciation for that. We love that they're into the game."
Reddish did eventually find his way onto the floor, logging just five minutes and scoring four points, all from the free throw line. He has appeared in just three games as a Knick, playing less than 20 minutes total.
