Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks pulled away from the Knicks early in the fourth quarter on Friday night, sending New York to its sixth loss in its last seven games.
It was also another night in which newly acquired Cam Reddish saw no playing time.
The former top-10 draft pick, acquired via trade with the Hawks on Jan. 13, sat on the bench while Milwaukee ran away with the win late, again raising the question as to what exactly Reddish's role is with this Knicks team.
Reddish was acquired for Kevin Knox and a first-round pick, but so far has played a total of 15:30 in two appearances so far as a Knick. Asked about Reddish's role after Friday's loss, head coach Tom Thibodeau seemed to once again indicate that Reddish doesn't really have a current role in the team's rotation, but that he did discuss the trade with the front office before making the deal.
"Everything was discussed, and we like who he is," Thibodeau said. "We like the talent. It's a long season. We knew we traded someone who wasn't in the rotation. You can't keep adding to without taking somebody out. Or you have injuries. We just have to be patient and work our way through it."
Another youngster who many want to see get more playing time is sophomore Obi Toppin, who has come alive of late and had the highlight of the night in Friday's loss, when he drove to the basket and threw down a vicious one-handed dunk. But Toppin only played 14 minutes, while Julius Randle logged over 36 while scoring just nine points.
One youngster who certainly continues to earn more minutes is rookie Quentin Grimes, who worked his way into the rotation appears to be there to stay, shooting 4-for-8 from the field and 3-for-7 from downtown to finish with 11 points in 18 minutes of work on Friday night.
