A trio of Mets pitching prospects – Bill Pulsipher, Jason Isringhausen, and Paul Wilson – went to spring training 25 years ago as soon-to-be-stars ready to plant the seeds of a Mets dynasty.
Unfortunately, Generation K never quite took off. Injuries got in the way, and the three pitchers never made a single turn together in the Mets rotation.
On the latest episode of "30 With Murti," Pulsipher takes a look back with Sweeny, and they discuss how the workload all three pitchers had at a young age might have contributed to their injuries – and led baseball to the current era of pitch counts and innings limits.
