Boomer and Gio have questioned the core of the Mets team, and whether it is one than can foster a culture of winning. After Wednesday's fiasco involving another in-game collapse and postgame fireworks from Jorge Lopez, Boomer is convinced that it is a reflection of that core.
"This basically reflects the Mets season and the Mets organization," Boomer said. "This is part of a locker room culture problem if you ask me."
With that in mind, Boomer believes the trade deadline should mark the end of this current Mets core, and players will have to be traded to shake up the roster and try to find a new identity as an organization.
"It is one player, but the fact of the matter is, it's embarrassing," Boomer said. "There are no leaders on this team."
