Boomer: 'No question in my mind' Mets will trade Pete Alonso if losing continues

The Mets are still waiting for their first win of the season, and Pete Alonso went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in Tuesday’s loss to the Tigers.

Now 0-4 on the season, Boomer says Alonso will have to be traded if this losing continues.

“If he wants like eight years and $40 million [per year], this isn’t the way to go about getting it,” Boomer said. “Eventually they’re gonna break through and the bats will wake up…but just looking at the Mets fans right now in the stands, you’re feeling it all over again.

“If it continues, Pete Alonso will be traded. There is no question in my mind…are you gonna pay this guy eight years and $40 million? Are you gonna end up doing that? As we sit here right now, hell no.”
