With David Stearns now officially in his spot as the Mets president of baseball operations, many wonder what Billy Eppler’s role will be within the front office entering a critical offseason.
BT could see Eppler’s role diminishing like another GM in town, who was recently let go.
“Knicks fans will get this. He is the new Scott Perry,” BT said. “His voice will be marginalized by the day.
“He had no juice for awhile. I think you’re just gonna see a minimization. It’s gonna be the Stearns show. He’s not gonna be front and center.”
Perry was with the Knicks for six seasons, but after the Knicks brought in Leon Rose and World Wide Wes, Perry’s role seemed to diminish, and the Knicks eventually parted ways back in May.
Sal doesn’t want the same to happen to Eppler, even with Stearns in the fold.
“If Stearns doesn’t value the experience Billy Eppler brings,” Sal said. “I think he’s making a mistake.”
