BT feels for Mets fans, says current win streak 'doesn't mean anything'
The Mets have won three in a row and are pulling themselves out of their miserable start to the season, but BT has sympathy for a fanbase that is finally getting to watch some respectable baseball over the last week.
"I feel bad for Mets fans," BT said. "It doesn't mean anything, because it's not real, and it's not sustainable.
"We've seen this with so many teams. You kind of regenerate and thrust yourself back into the lowest level of the meaningful conversation, and I get it, Mets fans, you want to cling onto anything."
BT says this recent Mets streak is simply a tease, and if it continues, it could damage the long-term future or the organization.
"The longer this goes on…The more dangerous is becomes down the road, because it's fool's gold," BT said. "This ain't the team."
Sal, lamenting that the Mets couldn't play this brand of baseball for the first two months of the season, agreed with his co-host.
"I don't see it. I just don't see it with this group," Sal said. "I'd be lying to you if I said I believe in this team."
