BT: Mets are cooked unless they dump struggling veterans, call up the kids

BT had some good news and bad news for Mets fans after their sweep at the hands of the Tigers.

The bad news? This team isn’t good enough to win, or even get to the postseason. But the good news is that there is a simple fix to get the team back on their desired trajectory. All it takes is dumping the dead weight in the lineup.

“The Mets are not good enough, period,” BT said. “Don’t need to elaborate. Nor will they be good enough. “Here’s the good news. The Mets, they gotta be bold here. The Mets can go from going nowhere to going somewhere, really fast. It’s not about getting Ohtnai…it’s actually easier than that. What they do is, the Mets

“[Luis] Guillorme? Gotta go. [Mark] Canha? Gotta go. [Daniel] Vogelbach? Gotta go. The reason the Mets aren’t good enough is because those guys are playing too much…you know when the Mets will be good? When they tell those veterans to go, and they bring up the kids.”

BT says the Mets need to call up Ronny Mauricio and Mark Vientos, as well as get Baty more at-bats higher in the lineup, to help awaken a dormant offense that has already been shut out six times this season. Ideally, the lineup should look like this:

Nimmo

Lindor

McNeil

Alonso

Baty

Marte

Mauricio

Vientos

Alvarez/Nido

“That is the lineup that will get the Mets to the playoffs,” BT said.

“The Mets have two options now. They can remain stagnant and unimpressive…but without change, they will continue to fail. They’re not good enough. Nobody wants to see Guillorme or Canha. Nobody wants to see that. They want to see the young stars, and they’ve earned it.”
