Pete Alonso got drilled in the Braves series in Atlanta and fans cheered. And, Pete Alonso got hit in the head this weekend by the Angels, and while the fans didn’t cheer because it was at Citi Field, there was one other connection: the Mets did nothing Sunday to ‘retaliate’ for the plunking.

And to Brandon Tierney, that’s just spineless.

“Sometimes, for us, it’s tough to decipher intention, but I’m past that point with Pete Alonso, because there’s nothing left to interpret,” BT said Monday. “You have to do something, and really, it just extended so far beyond the expiration point.”

BT was mad when the fans cheered Alonso getting drilled in Atlanta, and got even madder after that plunking late Saturday.

“What was it, 95 at your neck? And what did the Mets do? Nothing!” BT ranted. “So, congratulations Mets; not only have you woefully underachieved this season, but you have now proven that you are spineless.”
