BT worried Francisco Lindor is already past his prime: 'Based on bat speed'

BT said he isn’t worried about Aaron Judge’s slow start, leading Sal to wonder why his co-host seems to have much more concern with how Francisco Lindor has struggled out of the gate.

BT, noting that Judge is the better player with a proven track record in recent years, added that he believes the Mets shortstop’s best days are already behind him.

“I’m worried that he’s actually on the other side of his prime,” BT said. “Bat speed.

“Based on bat speed…he’s going to put up numbers that are probably in the neighborhood of what he did a year ago, but my issue with Lindor is that by the time he wakes up, the Mets might be dead.”

Lindor has gotten off to slow starts in recent years, but BT, stressing Lindor’s struggles from the left side, says this feels different, and more of a sign of things to come than a blip on the radar.

“I’m very worried about Lindor,” BT said. “When your bat speed as a switch hitter from the left side is discernibly slower than the right side, that is not just a funk to start the season. That is usually the beginning of the end.”
