C-Mac: Francisco Lindor starting to feel like Carlos Beltran

Francisco Lindor is off to an awful start this season, and C-Mac wonders if the Mets shortstop is going to go by way of Carlos Beltran.

“He’s a great player, but the connection of Lindor to this fanbase is gonna start to feel like Beltran,” C-Mac said. “Where he is a great player, he’s one of the best in the league…but the feeling of, ‘what did he ever do for me? When did he come up in the clutch? When, when, when?’”

Beltran was a five-time All-Star with the Mets, including each of his first three seasons in Queens. But the team never advanced further than the NLCS, despite Beltran posting his best numbers as a Met than any of the other five teams he played with in his 20-year career.

C-Mac is worried Lindor could be remembered in New York like Beltran.

“I like Lindor,” C-Mac said. “But this season can’t die on the vine.”
