Craig Carton has heard from Mets fans basking in the Yankees' struggles, but now he is wondering where all that gloating went.
The Mets, who just lost three of four to the Braves, including dropping the series finale with Jacob deGrom on the mound, now hold a 3.5 game lead in the division, and Craig wants to hear from the Mets fans who have been soaking up every loss by their crosstown rival.
"I was just wondering…for those of you Mets fans that are out there, I thought you were supposed to win every time Scherzer and deGrom pitch?" Craig said. I thought it was a lock to at least split the series with the Braves because Scherzer and deGrom were pitching?
"For all the yelling and screaming and crying that's been going on among Yankee fans among the Yankees' slide, and Mets fans have sat back in a douchey manner and condescending manner…what happened? I thought you were a lock to win every time those guys pitched?"
By no means are the Yankees in any better of a spot, but Craig thinks this latest series loss is a chance for Mets fans to check themselves.
"Yankee fans are pissed, and rightfully so," Craig said. "But Mets fans, your week of gloating has come to an end."
