Darryl Strawberry joined Jerry Recco and Joe Benigno on Thursday morning to talk about his number being retired by the Mets, the challenges and privilege of playing in New York, and his experience in playing for both the Mets and Yankees.
It was also a chance for Joe to voice his relief that his consistent pleas for the Mets to retire Strawberry's number were finally answered, and Strawberry extended his thanks to Joe for being a consistent advocate for the franchise to recognize the lefty slugger's accomplishments.
