Evan hated Luis Severino's 'stupid' Yankees trash talk ahead of Subway Series

Luis Severino told reporters on Friday that he teased former Yankee teammates in a group text chain by saying that his former team only has “two good hitters,” a reference to Aaron Judge and Juan Soto.

With the Subway Series wrapping up with two games in the Bronx beginning Tuesday night, Evan had a big issue with Severino making those comments public.

“What he did was stupid. What he did was really stupid and I have a big problem with it,” Evan said.

“Yes, it’s true. Fine. We all know that. But why would you make that public? He’s not friends with everybody on the Yankees. Not everybody would say ‘It’s Sevy being Sevy.’”

Evan is worried that the Yankees, who hit five home runs on Monday against the Rays, will score “20 runs in the next two games” against the Mets, and Severino won’t have to worry about giving any of them up himself.

“Every single in the lineup could be upset because it’s a slight at you…I don’t see the purpose of it,” Evan said. “You’re not even facing the Yankees, bro. For you to come out and make any disparaging comment about them, you don’t have a chance to back it up…but you know who has to back up your big words? Jose Quintana and Sean Manaea.

“The Yankees are coming for that ass, and they are going to score a lot of runs over the next two days.”
