Mets fans lamenting Daniel Vogelbach trade as Colin Holderman showing real promise with Pirates

As frustrations grow amongst Mets fans with Daniel Vogelbach, the player New York traded to acquire the lefty bat has been thriving in Pittsburgh.

Reliever Colin Holderman opened eyes again on Monday night after he broke out a nasty 101 two-seam fastball, which caught the eye of the popular Twitter account "Pitching Ninja," which posted the clip of the righty breaking off 16 inches of run on that two seamer.

Quickly, Mets fans filled up the replies lamenting trading the 27-year-old Holderman for Vogelbach, who hasn't brought the pop the Mets may have hoped for, though his ability to draw walks has helped him remain somewhat productive this season.

As for Holderman, he needs to cut back on his hits allowed, but despite giving up 17 hits in 17.1 innings of work, he holds a 2.60 ERA with 22 strikeouts against just four walks.

Prior to New York trading Holderman for Vogelbach last summer, the former ninth-round pick held a 2.04 ERA in 15 appearances.
