Francisco Lindor on Mets fans booing him: 'Getting booed sucks, man'

Saturday marks the 44th game Francisco Lindor will play as a Met – and he's not the only one who is hoping 44 and beyond go much, much better than the first 43.

Entering this series with the Braves, Lindor is slashing .185/.290/268, and knows he's not barreling the ball up as he usually does.
Mets fans know it, too, and have been mercilessly booing the $341 million man.

He hears it, and he's not a fan.

"Getting booed sucks, man. It's not fun. It's a lonely feeling, especially when it's your home crowd," Lindor said. "But with that being said, they want results, and there's not one person in this world that expects more results than myself. They want results and so do I. I want the results more than they do."

So, yes, he understands the frustration.

"I think they're booing because of the results. I don't think it's that they don't like me," Lindor said. "I think it's because of the results, because when I come to the dugout and I have a baseball in my hand, they all go crazy but it's the same person who's booing me. I'm starting to understand this."

Lindor admits that baseball is a "very hard and humbling game," but he is "working as hard as I can and doing everything I can" to turn this two-month slump around.

"In order to be successful in life, you've got to believe in the process, and understand that with ups come downs," he said. "It is what it is, man. I would love to be on a really high note right now for a very, very long time, but that's not the case. I feel like my season has been extremely inconsistent when it comes to the offensive side of the game. But I'm working extremely hard and can't wait to have results."
