Gio is tired of hearing Mets fans rationalize why the 2023 team is capable of going on a run despite sitting 7.5 games back of a playoff spot.
"All you have to do is listen to me," Gio said. "Because I'm the only one saying they're not gonna go on a run.
"I'm telling you right now, they're not. I can't even imagine them going 40-21 the rest of the way to get to 87 wins. Come on, man. The team stinks. It's over."
Boomer, who began the week by declaring the Mets were done, agrees that a run isn't coming, and it is time to put the "For Sale" sign up outside Citi Field.
"The Yankees are gonna be buyers," Boomer said. "The Mets are gonna be sellers. Selling Carrasco, Canha, maybe Marte when he comes back. They can get rid of half the team if they want to."
