Gio sounds off on Mets after miserable opening weekend
The Mets started the season with three losses to the Brewers, with the lineup looking mostly lifeless during a weekend where Rhys Hoskins rubbed salt in the wound after benches and bullpens emptied in Friday's season opener.
Gio sounded off on the weekend that was to open Monday's show.
"The embarrassment that I feel like a couple fanbases go through around here, it feels like it's only a couple teams that are capable of pulling that stuff off. It's generally the Mets and the Jets," Gio said. "The league is laughing at the Mets and the Jets every single year, it feels like.
"This was one of those weekends. It wasn't just because they lost all three games. It was the way that it happened. Everybody is just disgusted with everything to do with the Mets."
