After the Mets dropped yet another game to a team not expected to sniff the playoffs this year, Gio wanted to know where all of the fans were that disagreed with his nervousness about the 2023 season.
So far, it seems like all of Gio's concerns regarding this Mets team were well warranted.
"All of those Mets fans at the beginning of the season saying I was being too negative and the team won 101 games last season, where are you today?" Gio asked. "Because this team stinks!"
Gio is tired of hearing about how early it is in the season, and instead wants to focus on the actual team. Right now, this team looks like on that is going nowhere fast, despite the arguments he heard all spring when he expressed worry about how good New York could actually be this season.
"This is now another loss to another terrible team…this team right now is on the verge of getting buried in May," Gio said. "We always say anything can happen, but the Braves are kicking ass. Are they gonna fall apart at some point this season like the Mets at the beginning of this season? I doubt it.
"This team is a mess."
