Keith: Mets need to 'lean in' on Grimace craze as hot streak continues

As the Mets made it six straight wins, the McDonalds X account posted a picture of Grimace throwing out the first pitch from last week at Citi Field, while the Mets social media accounts did the same.

The McDonalds mascot is becoming the face of New York's hot streak, and Keith says why not let it happen?

"The 7 line, the purple. When they came out with the City Connect jerseys and the little purple…it took Grimace to activate the 7 line powers," Keith said. "Everybody should have purple. They should lean into this. Mcdonalds has money, Steve Cohen has money. Make it something more than it is.

"Keep it going. This is fun."

Keith wants to see both sides lean into the bit, especially if the Mets keep on winning, because every team has had an unorthodox face for their hot streak in years past, from Bronxie the turtle for the Yankees to the Angels rally monkey.

"It's fun to win. Winning cures all," Keith said. "Seems to be contagious with this Mets team."
