Keith says no more 'house money' talk for Mets: 'They can win the whole thing'
The Mets are moving on to the NLCS after handling the NL East champion Phillies in four games.
In fact, New York was just three outs away from sweeping the trendy World Series pick in Philadelphia, who needed a walk-off win in game two to avoid the sweep.
So, as many marvel at the improbability of the Mets' current run, Keith says it's time to adjust those narratives and see this team for what it is: a legit championship contender.
"It's something you couldn't imagine," Keith said. "It's something that nobody thought was possible this year.
"You gotta believe…enough of the house money talk. Next series, no house money talk. Talk about how good this manager is and how these guys have earned it. They deserve it."
The Mets certainly believe, and with each miracle comeback or big-time home run, like Francisco Lindor's grand slam in game four, more and more of the fanbase is believing as well. So, whether it's the Dodgers or Padres in the NLCS, Keith says Mets fans should go into the series believing that they have a very real shot to advance, and even be the last team standing.
"The Mets have some magic," Keith said. "I don't know what else you need to see or what else they need to do for you to say 'Yeah, this is real. They can win the whole thing.'"
