Keith: Mets currently playing like 'better team' than Yankees
The Mets picked up another victory on Wednesday night, jumping on the putrid Patrick Corbin to continue the offensive momentum they have been building in recent weeks.
Right now, Keith says the best team in New York resides in Queens, as the Mets climb above .500 and the Yankees look to escape a prolonged stretch of posting the worst record in baseball.
"They're the more impressive team right now," Keith said. "They're the better team right now.
"The Mets play a better brand of baseball. All they do is hit…they are making the right moves for success, which is different from Mets teams of the past."
The Mets were considered by many to be punting on the 2024 season, and many fans scoffed at the front office declaring that they expected the team to make the postseason. But now, those critics are silent.
"This is a new regime," Keith said. "A first-year manager in Carlos Mendoza and a first-year president of baseball operations in David Stearns. That boy is smart. He's smarter than we all thought, huh? Look at all the little moves he made that you might not have thought were that important, and how big they look now."
