KFC Barstool filled in for Boomer on Thursday, and he started by trying to preach perspective for his fellow Mets fans when it comes to the Steve Cohen era.
Sure, the Mets have shut down their spending after retting records last offseason, but KFC says Cohen is now looking at the bigger picture, and when their contending window opens, he will break the bank again.
"Steve Cohen came in and took over one of the worst organizations in all of sports, and in the grand scope of owning a baseball team, we are still at like the very first little blip of his reign if you will," KFC said. "Just remember how bleak, I think people have a real short memory on how dark and how bleak it was and I know maybe the results aren't there, but like a lot of the infrastructure and off the field stuff, it's a lot, lot, lot better."
So, Mets fans should hold their strong reactions until the vision with David Stearns plays out.
"Now, if a couple more years go by and no money is being spent and things haven't changed," KFC said. "Then you have a gripe."
